Written Directions

From Los Angeles, take the 101 freeway north to Ventura until you get to SR 126. Take SR 126 east to Santa Paula and take the SR 150 off Ramp to Ojai. Continue following SR 150 until it joins with SR 33 in Ojai. Stay on SR 150 and follow it thru the hills past Lake Casitas where it ends on the 101 freeway in Carpinteria. Take the 101 freeway south to LA or head into Carpinteria for some nice beach town grub.

Scenery

Tree lined road, ride by a river, thru the mountains then out to a beautiful valley. Views of Lake Casitas on the way!

Drive Enjoyment

Twisties all the way from start to finish. And, the road has just been redone so you'll find very good road conditions. Be careful of the speed trap on occasion though.

Tourism Opportunities

Plenty of eateries in Santa Paula and thru Ojai. Ojai is a nice little town to stop and explore on foot.

Nice day run. Shops in Ojai are nice to wander through, but I highly recommend eating at The Deer Lodge (just out of the main town). Lots of motorcycles, outdoor bbq, bar, indoor/outdoor seating...perfect! 2261 Maricopa Hwy

I live in Ojai. If you make this ride on a weekend, watch out for cyclist. Especially from the Lake to the Coast. They love to take up the entire lane and think they own the road so be careful. Highly recomend you do it on a weekday. Other than that, it makes a great ride.

Lake Casitas is quietly famous for bass fishing. Great beach at Carpenteria, also excellent campground at the beach--need reservations, tho.
