Written Directions

The trip starts on WA 3 near Polsbo, Washington. WA 3 is the north/south highway on the Kitsap Peninsula. Continue on WA 3 north. WA 3 becomes WA 104 where WA 3 turns at the Hood Canal Bridge. Don't turn - go straight. There are gentle turns for a couple of miles and then the speed limit drops to 25. Heed the speed limit change. In about 1/4 mile you enter Port Gamble, a tiny town with great views, and a great BBQ place. In this ride, it is about the destination and food. The ride is easy.

Scenery

Road conditions are good, and the road travels typical Western Washington countryside - evergreens and a little farmland. Occasional glimpses of water until you get to Port Gamble when you have a great view of the Puget Sound area. In the summer there is sailing and kayaking in the area around Port Gamble. Even a small boat and kayak show in the summer!

Drive Enjoyment

Excellent road quality. Well maintained. Few gentle turns and hills.

Tourism Opportunities

Short ride. Some traffic and good cell coverage so you aren't left stranded. Mike's Four Star BBQ is our usual destination (though closed in the winter). Fabulous food. Port Gamble is a nice little walk after you have stuffed yourself at Mikes.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

Coming from Seattle, take the Edmonds Ferry to Kingston. Bikes load and exit first. Off the ferry take 104 North and ride by the water.
