Scenery
This section of US 160 goes through the rolling hills of the southern Missouri Ozarks. It starts off in the residential neighborhoods of West Plains, before turning into the farmland and woods of the hills.
Drive Enjoyment
The road is a well maintained asphalt two-lane road over the entire length. The very beginning can be a bit tricky as the first left turn is not clearly marked, and isn't intuitive. On a map, it doesn't look very interesting, but, while most sections are straight, the route is very hilly, giving it a rollercoaster feel. There are good curves, none of which are very technical, which makes for a nice cruising ride.
Tourism Opportunities
Both West Plains and Alton have multiple shops and restaurants.
