Written Directions

Start in Port Deposit after getting a bite at one of the nice little bars and restaurants or at the Union Hotel. Follow Rt 222 to Rt 1, then turn left headed south. After crossing the Conowingo Dam, turn left on Shuresville Rd. There's a nice park if you make the first left off Shuresville. It is below the hydroelectric dam water outflow. Great fishing and often eagles can be seen in the area. Continue down Shuresville Rd until Stafford Rd. Turn left on Stafford Rd and follow it to Susquehanna St Park. Stafford Rd will take you through the park and past the Steppingstone Museum. You'll parallel the Susquehanna River until you reach the boat ramp at Lapidum RD. Turn rt on Lapidum Rd. Take Lapidum Rd to rt 155. Turn Left and follow Rt 155 to Havre de Grace. Great place to stop. Waterfront parks and dining in a quaint small town.

Scenery

This parallels the Susquehanna River and goes through the state park. It is very scenic and nice places to stop in historic Port Deposit and Havre de Grace.

Drive Enjoyment

Most of the road is good except for the part through the state park is hard packed gravel with lots of pot holes to avoid.

Tourism Opportunities

The park below the dam, Steppingstone Museum, Susquehanna State Park, the Union Hotel are all great places to stop for a break. In the summer, 100's of other bikes can be seen at the Union.
