Just about 6 miles south of Huntsville, off of Arkansas Route 35, route 74 will be on your left. Take a left and head east to Kingston or you can start in Kingston, and head west on route 74.
Scenery
This short and sweet ride packs sweepers, twisties, long hills, scenic views, & valley ride into 14 sweet miles ride. You'll travel through a scenic pastoral valley complete with a lake when your nearing Kingston. Overall this is just a beautiful ride especially when combining it with a ride to Ponca, Arkansas for a float trip! Also keep in mind you can combine this ride with the famous motorcycle road - The Arkansas Pig Trail.
Drive Enjoyment
No potholes and generally just a smooth ride with plenty of turns thrown in (no decreasing radius turns).
Tourism Opportunities
Don't take this for the "roadside amenities" because there basically are none between Highway 23 and Kingston, Ar. There is a cafe in Kingston and fuel. Consider getting fuel in Huntsville especially on Sunday as there are no stations open in Kingston.

Highway 74 is a great road. I take it quite often from highway 23 east through Kingston to the Boxley valley and up to Ponca. Don't forget to look for the elk in Boxley Valley if it is early morning or late evening. You will know if they are out grazing because cars will probably be lined up along the road, be careful because most people are concerned about seeing the elk and not watching for you. For me the best part of highway 74 is east of Ponca on it's way to Jasper, especially the first couple of miles of tight turns as you rise in elevation. It is a nice ride all the way to Jasper with plenty of places to experience the great scenery along the mountain top road. Once you get to Jasper, gas up and have lunch in the square and get fueled up for the great ride south on highway 7. Good times!
