Scenery

The start of the trip has some nice scenery with trees overhanging the road, when you get to elm pass road the scenery starts to change with more rock faces on either side. Lots of great properties and ranches to look at and three or four water crossings with large and small bodies of water on either side.

Drive Enjoyment

The roads in general are in good condition lost of sweepers and hills. Jacobs well, 473 and elm pass have nice turns and twits and some sweepers. From 16 to vanderpool is where the fun starts you can really open up if you have a sporty bike.Lots of nice sweepers and straights. From vanderpool to leakey going through the hills is a great ride about 15 miles of twistys as you go up and down the hill. Please be care full on this stretch its the most dangerous of the 3 sisters.

Tourism Opportunities

There is not much along this route till you get to the Leakey/Vanderpool area. Gas up in Comfort if you can as Vanderpool has limited gas supplies. Utopia has a gas station so does Leakey. The motorcycle museum in vanderpool is awesome, lost maples cafe in utopia is great for breakfast so is the small taco joint a block down from the D rose cabins in Leakey (great place to stay) If you go to Vinnys Italian in Leakey bring your own beer and only order the pizza everything else is awful. Lost maples park on 187 is great for camping if you can get a spot. bent rim saloon is a good place to hang out for lunch (north of Leakey on 83).
