Written Directions

Start Camden SC. 1. Head north on Broad St toward Walnut St 1.9 mi 2. Turn left onto SC-97 N/Liberty Hill Rd Continue to follow SC-97 N 29.6 mi 3. Turn left onto SC-200 W/SC-97 N/Cedar Creek Rd Continue to follow SC-200 W 1.8 mi 4. Turn left onto US-21 S/Chester Ave Continue to follow US-21 S 5.8 mi 5. Slight left onto Wateree Rd 4.7 mi 6. Continue onto River Rd/State Rd S-20-101 Continue to follow River Rd 12.5 mi 7. Turn right onto State Rd S-28-303 2.0 mi 8. Turn left onto Longtown Rd/State Rd S-28-5 10.4 mi 9. Scenery

This route consists of looping around the Lake Wateree Recreation Area. The route starts a little slow but after about 15 minutes you hit the rolling hills that dot the land around this lake.

Drive Enjoyment

The route's road conditions are not bad. Once you get to the hills there are a few potholes but nothing that jumps out at you or is too big.

Tourism Opportunities

There is a Private Club along the route. It is a cash only establishment and that includes the little public convenience store connected to the club. Further down you'll come up on the little town of Great Falls.

Pretty good little ride. I came in from the North - started at Great Falls and did the eastern side of the lake first. Stopped off at the state park for lunch on the lake (brought my own). Good scenery, some curves, nothing crazy.

Decent ride. I came in from the west on 34 which was a nice ride in. Great fall colors. A bridge was out on the west side of the lake, but the bypass was fairly simple to figure out.
