Written Directions

This trip is very easy to explain. Just start in the town of Garfield, OH (near Salem, OH) and head north on Rt 534 all the way up to Geneva on-the-Lake.

Scenery

Great scenery small towns with great people. County with the most covered bridges in Ohio ... a camera is a necessity! Mike Tyson's old training camp is located on this ride.

Drive Enjoyment

All 2 lane roads but not much for turns. Scenery makes up for it.

Tourism Opportunities

This trip is pretty straight riding all on 534. Lots of small towns and watering holes. Plenty of gas stations.

There is a nice hotel at 80 and 534 cross roads as I don't recommend staying at Geneva hotels. Plenty of things to do with the Geneva night life. Live bands are a summer attraction. Plenty of hotels, bars and good spots to eat. Camping if your so inclined.

Wife and I did this route Saturday morning 2-up. There's also two covered bridges right off route 534 that are worth checking out. Windsor Mills covered bridge is on Township Road 257 near the intersection of route 322 and 534 (Google it), and the Harpersfield Covered Bridge is visible from route 534, on Harpersfield Road near the intersection of 534 and OH-307 (Google it). There's a few curves but not many, but the pavement was in good shape and Geneva-on-the-lake has lots of little places to get a bite to eat. Overall a nice morning ride, and I'd recommend it if you live in the area. I did see what "Guest" meant on his review on September 7, 2013 about "You f#$%^&# come to the country and ruin the quiet" LoL. There were a few bikes on the road with their loud pipes saving lives or whatever they think they're doing - disrupting the quiet. Otherwise it's a nice pleasant ride.

Nice ride. Geneva on the Lake is very bike friendly. Some of the back roads that lead to some of the covered bridges are pea gravel, so take it slow if you are venturing off to see some of those. This is also Amish Country, so take it easy passing any horse and buggies, the Amish were friendly.
