Written Directions

The route begins in downtown Rochester. Head North on the main drag (Rochester Rd) until you get to Orion Rd. Turn left on Orion Road. This road goes for about 8 miles and you will experience tight corners, elevation changes, and wide open road. Orion road dead ends into Flint Rd. Make a left on Flint and you have arrived in downtown Lake Orion. It is a short trip, but very close to where most people live in the metro-Detroit area. One of my favorites motorcycle roads close to home.

Scenery

The route crosses Paint Creek 2 or 3 times, swoops down into a few valleys, and rises back up out of the woods into grazing land.

Drive Enjoyment

Most parts of the road have been redone within the last few years. In 2014 one of the bridges was completely rebuilt.

Tourism Opportunities

Whether you start in Rochester and head to Lake Orion, or vice versa, both towns have great handout spots.

There are a few blind corners, so be watchful.

I take this road from start to finish very frequently. I live in Lake Orion and work in Rochester. Very nice ride with some really good scenery. Beautiful in the fall. Only drawback is that it is so short.
