Written Directions
The trip starts near the famous surfing area of Maui known as "Jaws" - https://www.lahaina-family-vacation.com/jaws-maui-directions.html. It travels on route 36/360 which is also known as Hana Highway and takes you to the town of Hana.
Scenery
It has breath taking views, however you really need to be on your toes because there are more than 600 turns and 60 one lane bridges. If you have seen Jurassic Park the Movie this is it. The ocean views on one side mountain views on the other with a few spectacular waterfalls thrown in.
Drive Enjoyment
The road is paved and in great condition. There are wet areas however and you will need to be careful on some of the wet turns. It some times rain so you may need rain gear. There are few guard rails to keep you from going over straight down drops of more than 1000 feet. I would suggest this for experienced riders only!
Tourism Opportunities
Pack a lunch. There is one restaurant however it is pricy with stone driveway and parking on a hillside. Very difficult to navigate. There are plenty of areas to pull off the road to take pictures and have lunch
Motorcycle Road Additional info
This is an all day ride. Leave early to get back before dark. I would not recommend this road in the dark. Pack a lunch and bring a camera. This road is for experienced riders only.
