Written Directions

Make your way to Ashland City, TN. It is located 30 miles South of Springfield on route 49. Due West of Nashville. I began here. Take Scenic route 12 North by turning Right (going south on 49) in the center of Ashland city. It will continue Northeast until it dead ends on highway 41a bypass which is just south of Clarksville, TN.

Scenery

This route takes you over the beautiful rolling hills of Middle Tennessee. Speed limit is 55 the whole way. Along the route you will encounter long sweeping turns, some moving uphill and also downhill quite steeply. Portions of some turns are bordered by sheer rock faces as the road was literally cut through large rocks. I travelled this road in early November and I noticed small communities interspersed with farmland. This road has a lot of blind corners so take it slow your first time. You will pass through Henrietta, the hometown of Tennessee Women's basketball coach Pat Summit and also the hometown of Rachel Smith who was Miss America 2007. Travel this road during a weekday around mid day. This is the best time for the least amount of cars. This is a challenging road with a lot of twists and tight turns. Enjoy!!

Drive Enjoyment

This road is in excellent condition. I didn't give it a 5 because you really have to watch for piles of wet leaves in the shaded areas of the road. No gravel at all. It is smooth and in good repair. This road is Extremely Curvy and also contains drastic elevation changes. Both up and down. This is a superb road if you like to drag a knee.

Tourism Opportunities

This road is all business. No real shops or restaurants at all. Towns don't even contain stop lights they're so small. Come with a full tank and a desire to carve hard. You can get gas at a small station just past the deerfield inn at the start of the ride.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

I have ridden this road 4 times now. Always from Ashland City going North. It has a lot if twisties and long sweeping turns. Basically it's Fun as F*CK!!!!

Its' said I live near Clarksville but just got a chance to go ride Hwy 12/Route 12. The ride is really nice. It's a good for a relaxing afternoon. The road condition is good, some sections of new pavement. There was a place called the "Bent Wrench" I passed that looked interesting, I found out later that it's a restaurant. I'll definitely be going back on my next ride. But overall I would recommend Route 12 to other riders.

Rolling hills. Good scenery. From a riding perspective it just cruising road, no real twistiest, just a few curves.

Nice sweeping curves. I started in Nashville, when to Clarksville and came back down 112. The return trip is blah. But overall good ride.
