Written Directions

In Hiddenite take Sulfur Springs Road to Brushy Mountain Road. The road will take you to 421 and you can head back via 16/115/21 or 77 from 421. You can also continue on as Brushy Mtn turns into 18 and takes you into Laurel Springs.

Scenery

Mountain road driving with great mountain views. At one point on Brush Mountain you can see all of North Wilkesboro. Great country road with plenty of mountains and horses to see.

Drive Enjoyment

About 25 miles of twists and turns. Not for the beginner. Road has been repaved, but loose gravel does exist in some points where cars have thrown rock on road from shoulder. Plenty of twisty curves!!!

Tourism Opportunities

The Coffee House at the intersection of 421 and Brushy Mountain Road is great place to grab breakfast or lunch. If you continue on to 18 you will run into Laurel Springs and Stations Inn is always a fun stop!

Sulphur Springs Road (prior to turning onto Brushy Mountain Road) is loaded with tar snakes/ribbons that will make riding very interesting on a warm day. Brushy Mtn Rd is quite nice apart from gravel in numerous curves. Take your time and you'll be fine. Stop at the Coffee House at 421 & Brushy Mtn Road for a snack.

Pretty much as described. A fair mix of beautiful rural and mountan views and fun curves.
