Written Directions

This route begins in Pattersonville and ends in Schoharie, NY. You can catch route NY-160 S where it meets 5s/Main St/River Road. Follow 160 S until it splits into NY-159. Turn Right onto NY-159 W then turn left onto NY-30 S. Ride NY-30 S all the way into the town of Schoharie.

Scenery

This route travels through the hills and open fields of the Mohawk Valley. The first stretch is a pleasant country road that will wind you through modest farm land and open fields. Then once on NY-30 you'll ride tree lined roads, past quaint houses and more open farm land eventually opening to a gorgeous view of the entire mohawk valley, stopping finally in the charming town of Schoharie, NY.

Drive Enjoyment

This road has a lot of sweeping curves in the beginning, but also some flat land that will allow you to sit back and take in your surroundings. The roads are very well maintained. These are major roads, but have traffic like back roads.

Tourism Opportunities

A few miles before you get into the town of Schoharie, stop at the Apple Barrel Country Store for lunch and some nic-nac shopping! Then continue into Schoharie, park your bike and walk Main St. for a pub beer or two!

Motorcycle Road Additional info

There is a spot on 30S that opens up to a view of the entire Mohawk Valley, it's my favorite view of the area. Unfortunately, there is no where to pull off and enjoy so you have to take it in in real time!
