Written Directions

From Canon City, CO head east on 50 approx. 7 miles. Turn left onto Phantom Canyon Rd. (67). Road is paved for several miles then becomes gravel/dirt.

Scenery

Road is a narrow gravel road with hairpin turns and blind corners. (BE CAUTIOUS FOR ONCOMING VEHICLES) Very peaceful ride and feels as though it's away from most civilization. Travel is through small canyon an opens up to rolling hills with mountains in the distance.

Drive Enjoyment

Loose gravel/silt/dirt/clayBe prepared for changing road conditions depending on season. Large rock debris may be present at times. Pot holes likely with as well as deep ruts.

Tourism Opportunities

No amenities for 25 miles camping is permitted at various points with signage. Closest town is Victor that has gasoline (30 miles)

Scenic ride on a fair road (gravel, dirt, etc.). Some places are just wide enough for a vehicle - be aware of the blind corners.

Motorcycle Type : Adventure Touring
Gravel road with amazing scenery. Be careful, because SEVERAL TIMES a car or RV came around the corner in my "lane". Be prepared to QUICKLY swerve out of the way without crashing, OR go very slow around the very outside of the turns so you can abruptly pull over and stop. We were two up on a GS and had a great time on this ride.
