Written Directions

This is a great loop through three small towns. About 70% two lane country roads. Gas and food in each town. Leaving Folsom,LA - Take LA-40 East to Bush,LA about 23 miles Turn left onto LA-21North to Bogalusa,LA about 15 miles Turn left onto Louisiana Ave about .75 mile Turn left onto Austin St. then left onto Cumberland St. Follow signs for LA-60 West about 15 miles Turn right onto LA-16 West .7 mile Turn left onto LA-437 about 4 miles Turn right onto N Factory Rd. about 5 miles Turn right onto LA-40 West back into Folsom

Scenery

Quiet country roads linking three small country towns. La-40 is especially twisty and hilly. Lots of shade along LA-60. Folsom and Bogalusa have multiple options for food and gas. La-21 between Bush and Bogalusa is 4 lanes. Nothing special. But quiet. A nice 1 1/2 hour ride straight through

Drive Enjoyment

A lot of new blacktop on this route. Except for LA-21(mostly straight concrete 4 lane). Bogalusa has a paper mill, so the odor can be horrendous at times. Tourism Opportunities

Folsom has a few restaurants and a motorcycle repair shop (Jason’s Cycles). Bogue Chitto State park is a few miles north of Folsom. Camping and tubing on the river.

This is my route near my home. There are a lot of roads like this in the area. This is just a nice loop out of Folsom and back.

This is a great loop to ride. Hills and turns. Lots of beautiful landscapes. Lots of shade from trees bordering the road. food and gas in several areas of the loop. Seems like there was lots of good roads to turn off as well for more exploring. I will definitely do this one again!

Not a bad ride, a few turns, some straights and light traffic. Spend a little time in Abita if you want.
