Written Directions

Off I-80 Stroudsburg, take PA-191 south to Poplar Valley Road (SR2002). At 2.5-miles, SR2002 becomes Lower Cherry Valley Road and retains the SR2002 route number to PA-115, Saylorsburg.

Scenery

SR2002 is a twisty, paved road through beautiful rolling foothills in the country and consists of occasional homes, small farms and views of the Kittatinny Mountains. Hikers love the famous Appalachian Mountain Trail from Georgia to Maine that runs along the Kittatinny ridge.

Drive Enjoyment

SR2002 is narrow and curves are for the most part blind and tight. The entire 8-miles are without shoulders and a safe speed here and there can reach 40-mph.

Tourism Opportunities

There are no amenities except for the Cherry Valley Winery (www.cherryvvalleyvineyards.com/) owned by the Sorrenti family, where wine samples are available for purchase and tasting. The family also has the adjacent, brick-oven pizza shop with unique varieties of 14-inch pies.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

Motorcyclists occasionally discover hikers, that must descend the Kittatinny Ridge @ near-by scenic Delaware Water Gap, who are usually most happy to share stories of their months trekking the Appalachian Trail.
