Written Directions

From the South WRRd is about 47 miles East of Vancouver WA along Hwy 14. You can also access this road from the North in the town of Randle where Hwy's 131 & 12 meet. Be aware the Northern access usually gets closed during winter due to snow. If heading North from Hwy 14, after approximately 27 miles WRRd becomes NFDR 5110 and about 2.5 miles further up is an opportunity to view Mount St. Helen's from the backside. Be sure to stop and don't forget to bring your camera. Eventually WWRd connects to NFDR 25 to the North and NFDR 90 to the West at the Eastern end of the Swift Reservoir. You can head West along NFDR 90 for 15 miles towards the Ape Caves for an even more exhilarating ride.

Scenery

Road travels through Gifford Pinchot National Forest so it's your typical lush forest scenery with trees lining both sides of the road.

Drive Enjoyment

The road is very well maintained with very few if not zero potholes or cracks this road was made for a motorcycle. Lots of twisties and a number of sweepers get your adrenalin pumping and you can't help but attack this road. There are a small number of speed zones and I recommend you head the limit, but between these you can fly at your discretion.

Tourism Opportunities

Very few amenities along this road. One or two curves in the road have a small cafe and/or fuel stop. A couple of campgrounds are accessible from this road as well.

I ride this route at least once a year, camping out at any one of dozens of national campgrounds in this along this fantastic route or many of its twisty off shoot roads. The off shoots are extra twisty and fun but also rougher and not as well maintained.

This was an excellent run with a great payoff view of St. Helen's. Great sections of tight twists and longer sweepers. Almost no traffic, felt remote enough to really get into the ride!
