Begin in Walland, TN where Foothills Parkway meets US 321 and travel South-West along the Parkway to US 129 (of Tail of The Dragon fame).
Scenery
Several pull-offs for sight-seeing along the Parkway offering views of the Great Smoky Mountains on one side and portions of the Tennessee Valley on the other.
Drive Enjoyment
Road quality is good. Some small patchwork areas, but nothing that should cause any major hazards. Several sweeping turns and a few sharp ones along the way.
Tourism Opportunities
No amenities along the Parkway or at the US 129 end. Stop for fuel and food in either Maryville or Walland before getting on the Parkway.
Local Tip: I live down below the Parkway and wanted to let you all know about a little secret. During the spring/summer riding season, if you start at the 321 end and go to 129, take a right at the end of the Parkway and go towards Highway 72 on US129. There are some more wide sweepers, beautiful lake views and some neat twisties after you pass the third boat ramp. Just as you come out oft he twisties, you'll come to the intersection of Highway 72 & US 129. There's gas available there as well as a BBQ spot, a small motel (where the bear is) and a repair shop that sells a few bike parts including tires, t-shirts, decals and one of the best burgers in the area. They're only open during riding season, but worth a stop if you're out this way during that time.

A great, fun road that's also a nice shortcut from the Pigeon Forge area to US 129. There is no commercial access, no crossing roads, and no driveways to worry about on this one. There is also no food or gas along the road, but it's less than 20 miles long. There is, however, occasional wildlife and downed trees to be watchful for. Mostly some high speed sweepers but there are a few tighter turns as well. Good elevation changes. Plenty of pull offs to check out the surrounding mountains.
Would ride again. And again.

Beautiful route! Spectacular views with numerous pull off/parking areas on both sides of the road. There are plenty of views of the Great Smoky Mountains and a few parking areas that provide views of the East Tennessee Valley. This is a road with sweeping curves and good pavement. If riding the Tail of the Dragon and visiting Gatlinburg, this is a must ride.
