Written Directions

On the northeast side of Frankfort pick up US 460 and go east. Although it is a Kentucky scenic byway, known to local motorcycle riders as a great scenic ride among horse farms. Locals know this is a great one ... we met several motorcycles on the route on the Sunday morning. Go east on US 460 toward Georgetown. Continue east to Paris and then it turns more southerly and goes to Mt. Sterling.

Scenery

You are traveling horse farms that so characterize the state of Kentucky without the traffic and affluence you see on other roads. It's more natural, as you wind along. There are some murals in Paris that are worth the ride too.

Drive Enjoyment

The road is hilly and has several sweeping turns, but not tight turns. The road conditions have good pavement.

Tourism Opportunities

Winding among the hills and small towns, there are several amenities as you come to the larger towns of Georgetown, Paris, and Mt. Sterling. You end up on I 64 and can take that back to Frankfort or onward.
