Written Directions
Beginning in Morehead, Kentucky take KY32 north to Goddard. Turning right at Parkersburg Road you will see Goddard White Covered Bridge straight ahead. It is open to vehicles, so go on over, grab a picture or two, but then return to KY32 heading north to KY156. Head west (left) to Poplar Plains. Turning south on KY111 head through Hillsboro toward Grange City. The Grance City Covered Bridge will be off to the side of the road. It is recently restored, but still not passable for traffic. Return north to Hillsboro and turn east (right) onto KY158 toward Ringo's Mill. The Ringo's Mill Covered Bridge is on your left at the intersection with Rawlings Road. Parking is across the street. Finally go back up on KY158 and east (left tur) to return to KY32 and then back to Morehead.
Scenery
KY32 is a well-travelled major thoroughfare, so it is well maintained. The other smaller roads are well maintained back roads. All is paved. It's not really a thrilling curvy ride, but there are several sweeps as you wander through eastern Kentucky hills.
Drive Enjoyment
The Americana feel is evident as you travel through the small communities on this ride. Goddard White Covered Bridge is well used and is the main turn off from KY32. The Grange City Covered Bridge was all brand new lumber, although there were posted signs not to go on the bridge. I think the signs were placed before the restore. Ringo's Mill has historical status and does have its own map point on online maps.
Tourism Opportunities
It is a short ride, so probably don't need to gas up. Morehead is a medium town that hosts a university, so there are multiple opportunities for gas, food, and lodging. The other small towns are more just residential communities, but Hillsboro might have a gas station.
