Written Directions
We made a loop from Olathe, KS south down 169 to west on 160 just south of Cherryvale, KS to 75 and headed south into Dewey, OK and saw the Tom Mix Museum. We spent the night in Bartlesville, OK and visited the Woolarco museum, lodge and park. Headed east on 60 to Seneca then north on 43 into Joplin. Part on this route was on "Historic Scenic Route 66". From Joplin we found 69 and made a fast return to Olathe in the rain. We all our running around we went 530 miles and really enjoyed the trip.
Scenery
Easy riding "touring" ride through rural KS and OK. This is a Southeastern Kansas, north to south loop that is very scenic. The ride also extends briefly down into northeastern Oklahoma as it swings through Bartlesville, OK and even touches Missiouri for a brief section as it goes through Joplin, MO and then crosses back into Kansas.
Drive Enjoyment
For the most part the road are flat with nice views and smooth. Not a lot of turns or traffic.
Tourism Opportunities
You can find everything you need somewhere along this route. Bartlesville is the home of Phillips 66. The Woolarco is a must see, from wild animals, western art and firearms collections. Food we enjoy Dink's BBQ and Murphy's steakhouse. Best Western was very reasonable and had a great free breakfast. If you had a lady with you take her to Sandstone Garden Center in Joplin, MO. You will make "points".
