Written Directions

Starting at Indian Head, take SK 56 north, around the north side of Katepwa Lake, Mission Lake, past Fort Qu'Appelle and around the north side of Echo Lake where you climb out of the valley on SK 210. The route ends at SK 10.

Scenery

This route takes you through grain fields, some slight twists around the lake and a few hills. Half of the route is slower along the lakes.

Drive Enjoyment

There are curves and hills, not typical on the prairies, as you wind through the valley.

Tourism Opportunities

Lots of quaint places to eat in Fort Qu'Appelle. Make sure you stop for ice cream at Jany's or lunch at Valley Bake and Coffee. We have also enjoyed a meal at the Off Broadway Bistro.Lebret is a historical stop with an impressive field stone church

Motorcycle Road Additional info

Take your swim suit and enjoy the beach at Echo Lake Provincial Campground.

This is my "go to" route when I have a couple of free hours (I live nearby). Katepwa Lake has a nice pub and restaurant with good food.

I do this one several times a year in both directions. Known locally as The Lake Loop, it is popular with many southern Saskatchewan riders. Nice varying scenery from grain fields, lakes and valley. Great lunch stop at Katepewa Beach and ice cream for desert.
