Written Directions

take the Nipton Exit off of the I-15 interstate which is about 10 miles south of Primm NV (state line). Take the exit toward Cima about 4 miles after you turn off - follow through Kelso and then onto Amboy

Scenery

Lots of high desert foliage, some nice mountain ranges and beautiful pink sand dunes - especially beautiful in the spring when the desert is blooming

Drive Enjoyment

with one exception the road is in good condition, that is about a 5 or 6 mile section between the nipton turnoff and Kelso train station

Tourism Opportunities

Kelso train station is a very interesting place, they have a small cafe and museum. Amboy has limited food and some gas. However Primm has many amenities

Glad I went through the Mojave. Nice lonely ride, but when I went through the roads were pretty bad. Looks like they tear them up by grading sand away. Make sure you have gas before you go in there!
