Written Directions

Route starts at the intersection of 2/4 South and 235 (three notch rd) in California Md ... refer to online map for directions.

Scenery

Wonderful scenery consisting of farm land, back twisties with lots of trees.Two parks are on this route. Point lookout State park ($4.00 admission), and St. Mary's River State Park ($2.00 admission). Point Lookout may let you drive thru for free. You will ride thru St. Mary's College, which is a Historic area and has a parking lot, so you can walk around on the grounds.

Drive Enjoyment

Road condition is excellent for this whole route, maybe a little bumpy towards Point Lookout State Park. The route has some straight roads (25 miles or so, but most of the ride is back roads with nice twisties, and don't forget to go thru St. Georges Island!

Tourism Opportunities

Plenty of places to stop for gas, food. Mostly in California,Lexington Park, and the Calloway area off of route 5. Five guys, Bob Evans and many more in California (shopping district for this area).

Motorcycle Road Additional info

I never seem to find any submissions for this part of Southern Maryland. There are so many great short rides, and roads with good scenery and twisties, that I will continue to keep posting them when I can.

There are so many great routes in Southern Maryland, Charles County. In addition to this route, I would add the trip to Colton's Point where you can see St. Clements Island. On the way back, you can detour to Cobb Island and have lunch at Captain John's Crab House.

Another excellent ride with a few nice, but not too difficult twisties in it. Didn't make it to Point Lookout Park, but still enjoyed the ride with plenty of scenic stops along the way.

Another scenic ride. Didn't make it to the state park at the tip of the ride, but plenty of beautiful scenery out in the countryside.
