Written Directions

From Maryville, TN, head south on SR336 (Montvale Road). This road changes names just north of the Foothills Parkway and is then called Happy Valley Road. Happy Valley Road ends at US129 (Tail of The Dragon) and just south of the West end of the Foothills Parkway.

Scenery

This route winds through Happy Valley, which is a small community settled in between the Foothills and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Large yards, livestock, and fields are abundant.

Drive Enjoyment

Road quality is good in some spots, but a little rough in others. Several road hazards such as pot holes and loose gravel can be found on the south section of this route, so be careful.

No roadside amenities on this route.

This review is in reference to the road quality. Happy Valley Rd was completely repaved this spring and is in perfect condition. It also will connect with the foothills parkway via flats rd.
