Arno to Bethesda to Duplex Roads

Written Directions

Start at Cracker Barrel near Hwy 96 and Carouthers in Franklin. Head South on Carouthers, Turn right on Arno, Right on Arno-Bethesda, at the end, take a left and then a quick right onto Duplex. This will deliver you into Spring Hill TN.

Scenery

Curves, Farmland, Hills, & Rural landscapes. This ride is part of a 2-2.5 hour loop that I do that includes Columbia, TN, Hwy 7, and Natchez Trace.

Drive Enjoyment

The road provides many good curves with low traffic. Some of the curves are tight coming out of straight stretches, so keep an eye out. Also, watch for police around the Page Middle and High Schools on Arno where the speed drops.

Tourism Opportunities

This is such a short rural ride that you likely won't need to stop. However, if you do, there are a couple of general stores along the way and plenty of retail at the beginning and end.

I live nearby and ride these roads very often. There is a lot of construction in the Franklin area at the northern end of this ride. I think it's better to go west on Hwy 96 from the Cracker Barrel about a mile and catch Arno Road at the traffic light, and avoid South Carothers. On the south end, Duplex Road is very congested and has short sight lines due to the rolling hills. Personally I think it is very dangerous west of I-65 so I avoid Duplex Road as well.

Having said all that, I love riding in this area. It's hard to go wrong.

Nice route, great scenery. Had quite a few dump trucks coming at us when we went through, but other than that, it was very nice.
