Written Directions

Using US Highway 77 to travel through Winfield, KS, you will turn east onto 9th street. this street will turn into Highway 160. follow until 160 turns back north. there will be a sign pointing you to Burden. After you turn north, you will go approx. 10 miles then take a curve to the east. you should see Burden. stay on 160 through Burden, and it will take you to Moline

Scenery

There are many trees, ranch land, a little farm land. in between Burden and Moline, if you pay attention, you will see the Elk River wind farm to the north.

Drive Enjoyment

About 1/4 of the highway is patched and sometimes bumpy. other than that, the road is a nice "back road" highway.

Tourism Opportunities

In Burden you'll find one cafe. There is a small motorcycle museum in Moline as well.

The Good: The road is in immaculate shape. The small towns even have "bikers welcome" signs out. That's ALWAYS a plus.

The Bad: It's flat, straight and goes on forever. Bad if you're on a sport bike, or any bike that CAN corner for that matter. I suppose that's a good thing if you're a Harley rider. While you can see the windmills in the distance, they're so far off that you can't "appreciate" them as much. My SP360 didn't even pick them up from the road when I recorded the ride.

The Ugly: It's Kansas, meaning very little tree cover, and NOTHING acting as a wind brake. The day I rode, I had to deal with 20 MPH crosswinds with 35 mph gusts. When your motorcycle is built like a sail, this is LESS than fun. Then again, that's why Kansas has a wind farm there.

This was a pretty good ride on a Sunday afternoon. Not too many places to stop but the road was in good condition with nice views.
