Written Directions

Hwy 179 is a very short road running between Steuben (on Hwy 131) and Eastman (on Hwy 27) in south western Wisconsin

Scenery

Typical driftless area surrounding, farmlands and forest, rolling hills and valleys. Fall time colors add to the visual appeal. Watch for farm vehicles, but traffic is usually very light

Drive Enjoyment

Lots of sweeping curves and excellent tarmac. The road was totally redone a few years ago complete with paved shoulders andcurbing that elminites the dreaded "gravel apex syndrome"

Tourism Opportunities

Both Eastman and Steuben are very small villages with one bar each and no fuel in either. But this route is meant to be an addition to longer rides in the area. Prairie du Chien is just a bit south of Eastman on Hwy 27 and has everything you could ask for for amenities

Motorcycle Road Additional info

To the east, Hwy 131 runs north-south and is a twisty and fun road, but the tarmac is in rough shape being cracked and bumpy.
