I have done this ride twice. I did 57 North and 42 South, both times. 57 was okay. Nothing too interesting. A lot of it was inland. Plenty of traffic, both cars and trucks. The best part was taking 42 North of Sister Bay, and 42 all the way South. This is where your scenery and lower traffic comes from. I have another review of 42, so I won't go into that, but still worth the ride. I plan to go to Door County again, and plan to do the same ride, again.

Rode this many times. Watch out for tourists in the summer. A lot of small town congestion from shoppers.

We rode this on our 2004 BMW R1200CL. Make sure you take the ferry to Washington Island as well and drive around the island. This is a beautiful scenic route and you get to enjoy Lake Michigan a little while riding the ferry to and from Washington Island.
