Written Directions

Austin, Texas. Begin at Spicewood Spgs and Mesa Drive. When you get to the bottom of the big hill, before the highway, turn left. Ends in Austin at Old Lampassas Trail.

Scenery

Horses, farms, and wilderness in the city. Hills, trees, creeks, ponds. Not a fast road, but one to slow down and see the beauty.

Drive Enjoyment

Beginning part has some seriously sharp corners, be careful! After that, lots of sweeping curves. Creek crossings are not slick, but road may close after rains.

Tourism Opportunities

There are a couple of city parks with nice hiking, but no facilities at all.

Motorcycle Road Additional info

A great road for seeing some green in the city. Not good for speed demons because of short sight distances.

Shortly after moving to Austin I found this little byway. I became my long way home ride after work. The road follows the creek and offers pleasant corners and calming scenery. St Edwards Park is often crowded and cars are parked on the side of the road. All-in-all a nice little diversion in the city.
