Written Directions

Starting at Dennison,OH, head south on Route 800 and you'll pass through rolling hills and farmland with gradual curves and excellent scenery. Clendening dam at Tippecanoe then keep south on 800 and pass through Freeport. Now look for US highway 22. Take Hwy 22 east (take a left) and you'll pass Piedmont dam. Continue east to Cadiz (Clark Gable's Birthplace) and look for US Highway 250. Jump on route 250 west (you'll actually be heading more northwest) around Tappan lake and take 250 all the way up to return at Dennison for some great food at Dennison Yard.

Scenery

rolling hills and farmland combined with three lakes and dams. You'll pass directly by Clendening Lake and Tappan Lake and see some great water scenery!

Drive Enjoyment

a little bit of it all. Good roads, hills, gradual curves and straights to keep you wanting more.

Tourism Opportunities

Clendening, Piedmont, and Tappan lakes all have dams and restrooms for great stopping points. Lots of places to stop for pit stops or food and refreshments.

"The Yard" in Dennison is a must. Good atmosphere with the Train Yard and Pizza.

A decent loop. 800 is much more entertaining that 250, but 250 is more scenic and has more little stops to look at things along the way. The further North you go the less twisty and less sweepers things can be, so this seems to be much more of a cruiser/tourer type of ride here. If you're in the area and want to kill some time, see a pretty lake, trees, hills, recreation centers, and some decent sweepers (on 800) then you can't really go wrong. Be sure and check out the Route 800 videos I've submitted. (I didn't film 250, as the camera is mounted to the bike, not my helmet, so you can't really see the lake.)

250 is nice, smooth with great scenery and visibility. Careful on 22 in the evening. Many of the crests will have you staring into the evening sun. 800 was freshly paved (I rode it in Oct 2014) and be careful-- it is narrow and there is a lot of truck traffic. The trucks drag a lot of the cinders from the berm onto the roadway. I didn't really care for the loop for that reason.
