Written Directions

Take US 79 either east from Dover, TN for approximately 9 miles or west from Clarksville, TN for approximately 19 miles to the intersection with TN-120. Head north on TN-120 for approximately 12 miles to the Kentucky/Tennessee state line. Continue north on KY-139 for approximately 15.5 miles to the intersection with US 68, just south of Cadiz, KY.

Scenery

The route provides a mix of scenery from open farmland and pastures to dense woods providing a "tunnel of trees", passing by numerous farms and rural homes.

Drive Enjoyment

The route is mostly straight sections through rolling hills with some easy curves. The road in Tennessee is well maintained rolled asphalt, that changes in Kentucky to older chip and seal pavement.

Tourism Opportunities

The route starts just west of Clarksville, TN, which has many shops and restaurants. The only towns that the route passes through are Big Rock and Bumpus Mills, TN, before ending just south of Cadiz, KY. The route also passes just to the west of Fort Campbell, home to the US Army's 101st Airborne Division.

This is a nice, relaxing cruising route connecting US 79 and the Clarksville area to US 68 just east of the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
