Written Directions

Just north of Clarksville is Hagarville, AR on hwy 164. Start your route in Hagarville, AR and just take hwy 123 up thru Piney Creek Wildlife Management area to the end point of Pelsor, AR (when 123 meets hwy 7).

Scenery

This ride to me is the 'Other PigTrail'. Great curves, lots of wildlife, and picturesque views of the Ozark National Forest.

There is a nice two lane bridge along the ride.

Drive Enjoyment

The curves are great, a good balance between straight-aways with a view and curves.

Haw Creek Falls. You have to ride appox 1000 yards down a gravel road to get to the creek. But the ride is worth it.

Tourism Opportunities

This is a bikers road. Not much in the way of amenities to attract others. You drive the whole 30 miles and never pass another person. Haw Creek Falls located 1/2 up hwy 123 is a great camp ground. Small with nothing more then campsites it has this great outdoor feeling. Located next to a flowing creek.

Haw Creek Falls. You have to ride appox 1000 yards down a gravel road to get to the creek. But the ride is worth it

This is a great route. Great scenery with lots of great hills and curves. Haw Creek falls and the Piney Creek Bridge at Ft Douglas are must stops. A great ride is to run Hwy 123 from Lamar all the way up to the intersection of 74 east of Jasper. Then head west through Jasper, then on to Boxley. From there you can either hit the Pig Trail or 21 back south.

We used this run on our return to Jasper after looping down to Clarksville area for lunch. Beautiful scenery, great road. The bridge at Fort Douglas is one lane--first come, first served! The creek is lovely there as well. It was an enjoyable way to finish out the day. Would love to return when we have enough time to explore the falls.
