Amazing experience... lots of curves, overwhelming nature the whole time... the speed limit is 45 mph... first didn’t like it, but this road is great for that speed... you are looking at beautiful landscapes the whole time... so better to do it at 45 mph... a must if you like mountain rides!... better plan your gas stops... there are no gas stations... ride safe.

The BRP is one of those must-do rides. Beautiful, magnificent, gorgeous are a few words that describe it. If you have a choice, ride it north to south, as it gets better the further south you travel. Ideally start in the north from Front Royal, VA, and take Skyline Drive. This turns into the BRP. Take it all the way to Cherokee, NC. The last time we rode this (Skyline + BRP), we were in no hurry and drove the exact speed limit the whole time. (Not something I'm used to doing.) It really enhanced the magnificence of this ride, slowly taking in the the beauty rather than racing past it. And an added benefit was fantastic gas mileage, like I've never seen before.

LOVE THE BRP. I grew up in Texas and we don't have many "mountains" down there. I now live in Upstate NY and have been discovering the East Coast riding and the diversity of it. This was one of my favorite rides ever taken. The majestic beauty of this area is hard to explain. The Parkway itself is in great condition and the 45 mph is conducive to being able to take in the scenery. There are a number of places to pull over and take pics or just relax a bit before heading out again. Its a long trip from start to finish, but so well worth the time. While we were on the Northern half of the Parkway, cruising along at a leisurely 45 mph a huge hawk flew right between me and my windshield. That was a bit eye opening. It actually made the trip a bit better. It reminded me of the beauty of nature and how lucky we are as riders to be able to experience it the way we do.

Sweet, easy pace- speed limit is 45 so it gives you time to take in the views. Lots of stop offs. Plenty of towns to drop off into and enjoy a bite or a brew. Love it there.

Great ride, however I find the best portion is from Blowing Rock south to Cherokee. Note, on Sept. 23, 2020 the portion between Rt.19 and Rt.441 at Cherokee was pretty rough. More potholes than I remember. Just be aware and you can miss most of the bad spots.

Check the current status of the road work as there are some significant sections that are closed. Great ride with even greater scenery. Not much traffic the time we were there and even had a bear run across the road 30 feet in front of me. Easy, relaxed, fun ride.

This is the area that I started riding in the 70 s, much different then, the roads are in better shape today. There are so many great rides in this area. Just go west into WVA and continue the dream.

What to say......The Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the premier motorcycle road in the US. I have ridden all of the Parkway in North Carolina, and it is all beautiful and just a great road to ride. Gas up before you get on the Parkway!! Don't be in a hurry on this road, especially during leaf season.

I've ridden it 4 times so far, but it's always been the southern half of it. One of these days I'm going to have to make the complete ride. Well worth riding.

I live in east TN this is by far my most favorite ride. Great views perfect speed for the road. Nice sweeping curves. Keep an eye on the weather, the Smokey Mountains get their name for a reason, you can easily find yourself "in the clouds"

Beautiful vistas and great road surface. Weather can be different on the ridge than in the adjacent valleys. So many good segments to ride at different trips or make the whole Parkway your trip. Try connector roads as well! Some gas and lodging nearby.

Great ride, but it rained nonstop for 48 hours. Like driving through a waterfall for 469 miles. Checkout the Freeborne's Motorcycle Resort in Laurel Springs, NC.

One of my most loved rides. I rode it northbound from the southern end to the northern end in two days, stopping at Boone, NC for an overnight. When I got to the northern end, I stayed overnight in Waynesboro, VA and met my son and did the southern trip the same way, stopping again in Boone. We then rode from Boone to my house in Spring City, TN via US-441 over the Smoky Mountains. It was an awesome trip!!

The Blue Ridge Parkway has been my favorite riding experience since I began riding in 2004. No ride in the North Carolina mountains is complete with a stretch of the BRP. Until 2020 (and with about 75,000 road miles in the Carolinas), i thought it was THE ONLY road worthy of a Five Star rating. (Experienced the Cherohala Skyway in September 2020). Still, words fail to describe the humble beauty of this American Treasure. Makes you grateful to be alive and be able to ride a motorcycle.

We started in Cherokee and headed east, we left just before Asheville and stayed in a motorcycle campground. Descending on the side road was fun too.

I'm from TX but I love going to TN for this. Rode it several times. It's 468 miles of steady speed, easy curves, no large vehicles, no stop signs or lights, more scenic overviews than you can stop for, and lots of breath taking scenery. First couple times I tried this I missed alot due to heavy fog, I've also never made it through without getting rained on, so keep that in mind and give yourself several days to experience it.

What can I say. Those of us who live near the Parkway are truly blessed. I've ridden this road many times and never fail to be moved by the views. Truly outstanding. Some twisties. Plenty of more aggressive roads can be accessed from the BRP.
