Nice little ride for any local Albuquerque rider. The Scenery is gorgeous, from the Tramway foothils riding parallel to the Sandia Mountains, to the descent from the foothills down to the bosque in the heart of the Sandia Reservation, (which has my favorite New Mexico casino...Sandia Casino). Plenty of vistas, curves and the charm of mainstreet Rte 66 in small desert towns of Bernalillo and Algodones with a stunning similarity to the Pixar movie Cars.
As you begin the Northward leg of 313 you see lots of shade trees, livestock and open meadows adjacent to the wooded bosque. Try the Freight House in Bernalillo for great local cuisine and local tap beers. If you are really adventerous you can stop by Cactus Brewery in Bernalillo where brick oven pizzas and local beer are served with game meat..(Elk, venison, etc). Continuing north on 313 surrounded by the beautiful Rio Grande valley mesas through Algodones on to Hollywood Casino.
Plenty of food and beverage options, outstanding scenery, and rural and native pueblo construction everywhere. Road quality is very good, Speed enforcement can be significant in the township jurisdictions, but have never been pulled over on the 2 lane 313 where passing slower traffic (if even seen) is never difficult
If you don't have hours and hours, but want a good taste of what New Mexico motorcycle touring offers, this route is New Mexico in a nutshell. Great for couples, new riders, and tourists.
