Thank you for posting this route (CR 42). I wouldn’t have known about this gem of a ride had it not been for this posting… Let’s get the particulars out of the way. This is not a route to ride 30+ miles for. However, if you happen to be in the area or want to tack on some extra miles while riding to Brazos Bend State Park, you really shouldn’t miss out on this road. It is definitely not to be ridden fast as there are homes along the road and a few blind curves that the “locals” could easily take wide. I rode it on a Friday afternoon (during COVID 19), and past one vehicle. I don’t’ think this road is travelled frequently by anyone other than residents. Most of it is shady, which will help with the Texas heat. Short routes like this help brake up the miles and miles of straight roads around our area. Thank you for suggesting this route and ride safe…
