We rode this route on 01/19/19 and enjoyed it very much. We found it very difficult to locate on the map but once we did we were able to follow it. We are from Fort Lauderdale so we enjoyed seeing the farms, cows and cool homes and of course the open roads. Towards the end (North end) we were surprised with a lovely view of the lake on our left side. We also enjoyed the little roller coaster hills towards the end.

Add Fl 731 (Tasmania Rd) to this route for more back road experience rather than jumping on US 27 at the end if coming from the north. Depending on your time and route of course.

Took this ride 4/23/2021. Started from CR-74. Nice 27 miles of back road with little traffic. Then road a short distance on US 27 to CR-731 to Old SR-8 (CR-17) to (US-27) to Main Ave. Stopped for lunch at Morty's & Ednas Craft Kitchen. Highly recommend their BLT sandwiches. So much delicious bacon. Return trip was on Lake Dr. This road runs along the west side of Lake Placid and offers a better view of the lake. It also has lots of curves for Florida. Even a couple of 15mph turns. Return trip incorporated CR-731. Nice road with several twisties. Traffic was light except for a few tractor trailer trucks. Return trip- Lake Dr to SR-70 to Old SR-8 (CR-17) to CR-731 to CR 74. Approx 150 miles round trip.
