I ride this route to visit my Dad a couple times a year ( I've been known to dbl. back around Half Moon Lake to ride the long sweeping corners a couple of times if traffic is lite) . If you have time take M-37 north all the way to Traverse City. M-37 is best north of Baldwin.

The most important amenity wasn't even mentioned, which is Jones's Homemade Ice Cream Shop in Baldwin! You can't go to or through Baldwin without a stop there for the worlds best homemade ice cream!
