I love this road. Short of 536 & 258 this is the twistiest road that I've been on in Ohio. Furthermore, it, unlike the previous two, does not have a gravel or debris problem at all. I roll onto this road full of confidence that the road will be relatively clean where as 536 and 258 always demand a much higher degree of caution. Another mainstay of my Wayne's Forest runs, and will stay so for a long time to come, I think.
Update from Ohio’s Road Ranger (July 30th, 2020): As of June 2020 this road is in good to fair condition the entire way. (They patched a large gravel chunk that was there until October 2019.) The road a few miles before 565 is still lumpy, though.

Rode this today, as it is only about a half hour ride to the start of Dalzell Road from my house. It's a pretty fun ride UNTIL...there is a new section of tar-and-chip on the road for about the last 4 miles of Dalzell road in Washington county. Lots and lots of loose pea-gravel. Pucker factor approximately 7. (Yours may vary, depending on type of bike and experience on loose gravel) Once you hit Monroe county it turns back into old blacktop. I made a big circle ride out of it. Start out 821 from Marietta, right on Dalzell, right on 565, right on 260, right on 26 back to Marietta. About 60 miles around. Nice ride, but again, watch for the gravel section.

Pretty nice road, the surface is in good shape, has it's share of twist and turns. If you come in from the northeast side off 565, road sign says Lebanon County Co Rd 15, on the southwest side there is a Dalzell Road sign on 821 as you approach Dalzell Rd. The Dalzell Carryout has a deli and hand dipped ice cream with a few tables inside to sit down and eat. Can't speak for the deli, but ice was good!
