I took Maytown Rd from the 415 to US 1 and then South to the Merritt Island Refuge. It was easily the best I've found in FL thus far. There were ZERO cars behind me the whole stretch headed East and only a handful coming back. An easy and scenic 45-50 mph (with a few 35 & one 15 mph turns). At the intersection of US 1 & Maytown Rd there was a bar that seemed biker friendly. If you continue straight across US 1 the road slows to 20-25 mph and follows a seemingly, moderately popular lagoon edge until it loops back to US 1.

Started in Clermont area, to Mt Dora and out Hwy 46 to the start in Deltona. Great ride, nice scenery. Some loose gravel areas and one section that was a hard limerock roadway. Slow going but was ok for short distance. Overall was a 6 hour ride for us, including lunch. Great day.

great route for 1/2 day out; good restaurants available on the beach if you continue into New Smyrna or continue down US 1 to Daytona area

Just a heads up, volco road right next to the state park is a dirt road. You will have a very hard time managing it with a bike and you will NOT come away clean.

Nice ride low traffic. Mostly flat straight roads until you head around the lake, then a few curves and great view of the lake.
