This was an awesome ride. I was expecting more twisties but the long straights are great. I will definitely be doing this route again. It's hard to find good twisties in DFW. There were a couple construction zones but nothing major. And it's best to top off your tank in celina. Once you hit Weston, there isn't another gas station until you hit 75. I made the mistake of not filling up and had to coast through Weston

Route was an enjoyable round trip ride on 04/11/15. Stopped at Lucy's on the Square in Celina for lunch (also recommended). I started the route in McKinney. Due to road construction, Laud Howell Pkwy (543) was accessed via Hwy 75 north bound frontage road from Bloomdale Rd. Ride safe.

455 East of Preston (289) is fun for a few miles but becomes a gravel pit where they are resurfacing; currently 2 miles east of Weston. I like to head north on Preston (289) to Gunter. High speed limits and open road make for a nice relaxing blast past farms and a few gas stations. Next time I am up there I will try taking Main (121) as an alternate way of getting east to 75.

We took this trip today. 10/04/2015. It was nice. Weather was good and we ate Pedro's Tex-Mex a Grill in Pilot Point, TX. It was great and we will do it again. We went from McKinney to Pilot Point and then home down 380 and 75. other than the part of 380 and 75 it was great!

This is a nice easy afternoon ride with two picturesque villages/towns.

The roads are generally good(smooth surfaces) although on 11/1/14 we encountered quite a few sections where there is resurfacing going on which reduced the speed on some of the 'curvy bits'.

Riding on a Sunday afternoon there was very little traffic and when we did encounter anyone there are plenty of straights to pass.

This is the sort of route you could do time and time again to practice technique. I'm thinking or reposting after adding a few more hours of roads to make it a day ride.

Found myself with a free Thursday and quite bored, so I started looking for routes. I was very glad to run across this route! Started off in the morning and got to Lucy's on the Square in Celina about lunch time. Their chocolate meringue pie has been on my mind ever since! I will definitely be hitting this route again as it is a great easy ride along with some good stops along the way too. Be careful of the road work though, they are still doing construction and at one point I almost ate it with a poorly notated temporary stop light that came out of nowhere on part of the country road. If you're looking for a laid back Sunday evening ride, look no further!

This was the first real ride I had. I started out on 380 headed east, then turned north on 377. Once I got to Pilot point, I turned east again on 455. From there I road all the way over past I-75. I turned south on HW 5. I took HW 5 back down to Allen. The roads were good. Being a newbie on that bike, I really didn't lean that much. It was a fun ride though!

kinda light in real twisty's, but fun nonetheless. If you get behind slower traffic/vehicle in the twisty areas, the twisty's are less fun. Road is all in good condition. part nearest Mckinney is the best - worth doing backrward and forward!!

A nice getaway from all the straightaways. As this is route is through an area of farming, be careful through the corners as significant amounts of dirt can accumulate. Calm and scenic route.

Rode from East to West. This a nice, fun ride for beginners, like me, to practice a few tight curves. There is still construction zones, had to wait a few minutes on the empty road. Very enjoyable, will ride again soon. Breakfast in Celina is highly recommended.

Once you leave State Hwy 380 and all its traffic, this route takes you through some really nice North Texas ranches, countryside, and some reasonably twisty, fairly well kept roads. Very enjoyable.

I take this route frequently. You do have to be careful as there are more and more homes going up out this way. With increased homes, means increased traffic and road improvements. Lucy's is a wonderful place to stop and eat. There's also Mom's in Aubrey. Owned by same folks as Lucy's. Another good food stop is Bebo's and Kathy's Cafe.

Rode this 8/18/2020, and I thought it was fun. There were a couple bridges that were under construction with the makeshift stop lights, so be prepared to stop a couple times. The 90 degree turns later in the route were surprisingly friendly with some asphalt wear in the middle of the lane, but no big deal. I'm a new rider with a 2019 CB300R, and I had plenty of fun. I'm certainly not dragging any knees in these turns, but I'm sure someone with higher skill levels could make this ride a lot more dynamic. There was some traffic, but nothing crazy.

My favorite ride around DFW. Lots of small towns to stop in, roads are in good shape and the views are pretty great. IMO, the best ride within an hour of DFW.

Nice country roads but not much else, coming back and forth on 380 is also just a nice stretch of road for gas and food

had a great time on this one, one patch had some construction going on and was just a gravel road. and one part had me go down a dead end through a football field lol, wasn't too hard to turn around and get back on track
