Really enjoyed this route off the BRP. We did a 3200 mile trip of backroads and this was among my favorite. Very scenic with lots of twisties. Would not have known about it except for this write-up. Thanks.

This is the best motorcycle road in western North Carolina closest to the largest municipal area (Asheville). It offers a variety of everything a motorcyclist could ask for, switchbacks, curves, uphill/downhill, scenic views, peaceful mountain streams. A must-ride when in the Asheville area.

I did this loop going to and from my home in South Carolina. It is an awesome ride and one of the best in western North Carolina. Going up Sunday on 276 there was a lot of traffic, especially at the entrance to Pisgah on the Brevard side. Lots of cars pulled off the highway as well as hikers were out and about. I discourage riding it on a summer weekend. On Monday, I returned down 215 heading south from 276 outside Waynesville, and found I had the road to myself. The twists and turns are very challenging to say the least and not for a beginner. You have to stay focused. At the top of the run is the BR Parkway and there you can pull off for a bit of a break. The the run down to 64 is again challenging. This route seems lesser known and I am not sure why, but sure worth it.

This road was a lot of fun to ride. Great switchbacks and curves. The scenery is also amazing. There were several points on the road to stop and hike. There is also a lot of water on this route. Part of it follows a good size stream. There are several pull off stops by both streams and waterfalls to have a nice picnic or go for a swim. The National Forestry School Museum is also on this route close to Sliding Rock. It is definitely worth a visit.

I jumped on 215 north from Tanasee Gap Rd. 215 north is a great ride. Great quality road with quality curves. I turned south on 276 and also loved the road and the curves. I didn't complete the loop because I turned onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to head in the direction of Asheville, but this is a route I plan to take again.

The original poster has done an excellent job of detailed description of this route. I can't add to that. I agree with what is said by others that this is a fun route with lots of different types of ride enjoyment. No level biker can ride this and not be thrilled. The scenery is typical Appalachian Mountain area beautiful and the road is good riding all the way.

Ran up 215 starting at Rosman to Blueridge Parkway, down 276 and back up 215 to Blueridge Parkway. The only thing that sucked was elevation and rain clouds. Hardly any traffic for a Saturday!

64 is connector garbage. That road is very busy every time I'm on it, just not fun at all. 276 is pretty damn good, but can be busy from time to time because of the things is passes. (I saw waterfalls, fishing, picnic areas and the like.) So, it's good fun, but you wanna hope for no traffic unless you like putzing around at 30mph. 215 is the winner here. Less people on it, nearly as twisty as 276, and just the better overall chance to more fun on any given day. That said, this is a solid loop and you need to hit it up, if you're in the area.

Took 276 North through Brevard. Stop and go through Brevard. Might try Wilson Rd. to bypass next time. Street bikes be cautious up near the BRP. Corners and the majority of the road is tree covered by = late Summer/early fall corners were still damp around 1pm and the leaves were starting to let loose at elevation - both up and down on 276 and up and down on 215. Definitely opportunities to get the knee down :)

Stopped for some local BBQ at a food truck @ Headwaters Outfitters. They also have a taproom if so inclined.

Some of the best riding in the area. Lots of variety. The roads up to and down from the BRP demand respect. Not as wide as the BRP and there are some decreasing radius turns scattered about that will bite your ass if you get careless!

Pretty much once you get into this area of North Carolina every single road is excellent for riding. Just let the map load and you'll see someone has recommended all the roads. The route I took on September 19, 2020 included NC 276, 215, 281, 107, Pine Creek Rd and 23. This overlaps with a few different recommended routes: "The Copperhead Loop", "Lake Toxaway Loop" and "Brevard to Bryson City". (Cross-posting to "Brevard to Bryson" city for one highly rated section) On this "Copperhead Loop" both 276 and 215 are excellent riding. There are a few paved pull-offs that make it safe to stop for a quick picture. Looking forward to repeating this route again this year.

Great afternoon ride. Make sure you stop to see the waterfalls.Offers every kind of ride…twisty…sweeping turns…elevation changes…long straights you can blast away. Roads are mostly in good condition. Keep an eye out for loose gravel and leaves.

Like so many NC routes, Copperhead Loop crosses several mountain ridges and drops into valleys with tight curves and roads with limited shoulders. Ride it fast and focus on technics. Take your time and enjoy the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. Either way it's a great loop.
