Great road along the ridge of the Ozarks. Very little traffic and limited number of fuel stops available; also no premium fuel along this route so prepare appropriately and then enjoy the ride.

What a wonderful ride. This is like comparing the Cherohala Parkway to the Dragon/Deal's Gap. This is so much nicer than the connecting Pig Trail. Road surface is great, no traffic, super views, some nice open curves, great scenery. I could ride this every day.

Another reviewer once called this "the road that goes to nowhere." While every road goes somewhere, I understand the sentiment behind the comment. While AR-16 actually goes all the way from Searcy to Siloam Springs, on this section, you seem to just go on and on across the top of the Ozarks, not ending up at any real town. A different reviewer thought it should become Arkansas' next scenic byway, called "the Ozark Skyway." I fully agree. Just don't forget the eastern section of AR-16 from the AR-7 intersection to Shirley, AR (great riding the entire way).
