I was heading out to see the Grand Canyon from Memphis and I chose this road as one of my scenic route detours. Best choice I made on the entire trip. I rode the north part of the loop from Las Vegas to Rio Rancho. I thoroughly enjoyed the Carson National Forest, as well as Los Alamos. And the drive along the Rio Grande was spectacular as well. My thanks to the author of this route. It was one of the best parts of the 5,000 mile trip.

rating would be alot higher except all the really good twisties are heavily occupied by slow drivers, scenery gawkers and cops. the scenery is very nice (esp on 4 and 536) but high traffic really ruined it for me (taking a 35mph posted turn at 5-10mph because of slow drivers really gets old fast) If you are lucky enough to go on a weekday in the fall the trees will be stunning, but watch out for snow/ice patches

One of my favorite NM rides. Beautiful scenery with lots of twisties. Try the Spic n' Span Diner in Las Vegas.

What a great ride this is. Highly recommend it. The roads were clean and the traffic was non-existant. Recommend "The Ranch House" resturant in Santa Fe. Just north of 25 on 14 a couple blocks. Great upscale food at a very reasonable price.

One of my favorite routes. I usually cut off the bit to Las Vegas to finish up in an easy day, so I head down to NM14 through Santa Fe. I always stop at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op to fill up a growler, and I have an early dinner at Mineshaft Tavern in Madrid

This loop will take you through "a bit of everything." I especially enjoyed Highway 4 snaking through the reservations and beautiful scenery as well as passing Peñasco on the way to Las Vegas. The two stretches that were a bit long were from Espanola to Dixon and Las Vegas to the turnoff toward Madrid. I would recommend adding the 14 mile trek up to Sandia Crest on Highway 14 from San Antonito a few miles before getting onto I-40.

Just rode this route with my son and we both agree it was the best ride we've ever done. everything about the ride was great. Breathtaking and widely varied scenery, smooth pavement, great towns and people all along the way, and fantastic food. specifically, Pig and Fig in White Rock (right next to Los Alamos) and El Rialto in Las Vegas. i cannot recommend this ride highly enough!

I just finished riding this route with my son. We both agree it was the best ride we've ever done. Absolutely BREATHTAKING scenery that varies widely all along the route. Smooth pavement, great twists and turns and hills. The towns and people we met along the way were fantastic and friendly. And the food was awesome. Especially recommend Pig and Fig in White Rock (next to Los Alamos) and El Rialto in Las Vegas! I cannot give a high enough recommendation for this ride! LOVED IT!
