Yes this ride is beautiful a d twisty but biker beware, there are turnoffs that cross the road at some hill crests. We lost 3 bikers last month on this road. Be careful and you will enjoy it.

This is a great ride. I live on the Kitsap Peninsula and it does not matter which riding group you ride with, you will end up on this route. It is pleasing with gentle to hairpin curves, but don't be expecting much in the speed area, RV's use the route also. You will have excellent views of the Hood Canal with the presence of bald eagles. A positive must do ride.

Even with the traffic, slow speeds, and often lack of places to stop along the way to look at the scenery, this is still a beautiful route. Often you are traveling as if in a tunnel as you can't see to the sides for the vegetation. It always seems so cool along this section of 101.

Good scenic views, a bit of traffic. There's a short spell of good curves, but it's a long commute to get there. Definitely a great road for cruisers, but not a whole lot of excitement.

This route is a bit of a disappointment. The scenery is nice but other routes have better scenery. The curves are nothing to write home about and traffic could be annoying.

Agree with above statements... Great road in the summer time, however there is lots of traffic and at times can be found stuck behind a dozen cars or more. Heavily patrolled during the summer months, especially around the town of Hoodsport, WA. More of a cruiser bike type road rather than a sports bike setting. Either way, enjoyable ride.

This is a nice ride. I made the ride in mid-November. There was not a lot of traffic to contend with then. If you live in the Tacoma area it is a fun ride to go up Hwy 3 to the hood canal bridge and just make a good loop down to Olympia and back to Tacoma. I recommend this ride to anyone who wants to take a 5 to 6 hour trip.

I agree, this is a wonderful ride, as long as it's not raining. The only real issue is that during the summer there is lots of traffic. Due to this reason, it's not the best for a sportbike, but great for a cruiser.

Great for a casual, cruise. Views are beautiful, and road is fun, but not too challenging. Don't forget to check out Rocky Brook Falls just a few minutes northwest of Dosewallips State Park.

Another incredibly scenic ride in Washington. Don't expect to go quickly in the summer as there will be plenty of campers and RVs but it won't be difficult to relax and enjoy anyway.

A gorgeous ride that I make sure I take at least once per year. Only downside, and the only reason I rated it a 4 is that you can and likely will get stuck behind some land whales (RVs). Relax and enjoy the views of Puget Sound and the mountains and you'll be fine.

This was very pleasant as it followed the short near the canal but the traffic was brutal. Gotta try it on a better day.

Nice ride around west side all along Hood Canal, from Chimacum to Skokomish, then around to Bremerton. You can see navy ships around Naval Base Kitsap (combination of Bremerton and Bangor). Low traffic until you get to Bremerton. Very enjoyable, especially if you can pick a warm and dry day.
