This road has tons of turns from I 81 all the way to 19. Very tight turns in places along with a somewhat narrow roadway. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners though. At least not on big touring rigs. It can be a bit un-nerving at times. Be watchful for cars coming at you, usualy they are traveling quite fast.

My wife and I took this trip yesterday - 2-up on a V-Strom. This road is a lot of fun. We ate as the Redbud and loved the food. Coming from Greensboro, NC, we took RT 58 west. It was a long haul, but a there are sections of twisties on 58 too. We'll be doing this trip again!

Great route lots of tight turns and beauiful scenery. The back side of the mountain is narrow so becareful. Breaks interstate park.was something to see. We are going back soon. There is a little barbaque reaturant in Honaker called Redbud on main that was very friendly with great food. A great day trip!

This is on of the best day rides in the area. Hyters Gap is the bomb, but I would not recommend it for beginners. It can be a challenge if you have not crossed it before. There is so many scenic areas on this ride it is well worth taking. Go inside the Breaks Park also, and take some of the trails, you won't be disappointed.

I live about 30 miles from this road and have ridden it for years. The best part of the ride is from Hayters Gap (10 miles from I-81) to where it joins Rt 19. It is over one mountain with many severe curves that makes the Dragon seem like a wimp road. Very little traffic and no guard rails. You should ride with someone because if you go over the side of the road, it might be days before you are found.
