Cont... Try 1827, 1377, Road 470, 2933, 413, 272, 816, 546, 1378, and 3286. Those roads are all a little more exciting, and just South of there. Also, THE MOTORCYCLE OUTPOST rules, but has now Moved to Westminster off of 2862. It is downtown, right next to Big Slick's. Bikers are in abundance at both establishments.

there are only a few roads on this route that are really worth riding . Bailey into Celeste is fair and Celeste into Blueridge is also fair.

I did this ride with my daughter and we liked it pretty well. You just gotta watch out for cattle. There was cattle in fields over much of the rid, but outside one of the little town, sorry I can't remember which one, someone's bull was walking down the road. We stopped at least a quarter mile away and turned around just in case, but he eventually walked off into another field either back home or over to his girlfriend's place and we continued on our way.

We stopped at the Cattleman's Cafe in Blue Ridge for lunch. It was a great place, but we suspected as much because when we arrived there about 20 other bikers already there just finishing breakfast.

Great route. Good roads, fun, and not much traffic. Stop in Westminster for a burger at Big Slicks & Check out the stuff in the Motorcycle Outpost. Jerry is a good guy.

I rode the whole route on 02/01/09. 545 is a very nice road with lots of sweepers, but the rest of the route is pretty blah with few exceptions. If you like a lot of straight lines and nice farm/ranch land scenery, this is a great ride. If you like a little more action, this one might be too tame for you. Still, the area just North of Dallas is a little bland for roads anyway. It is very difficult to find excitement around here...

not a bad trail, but there is a lot of road construction going on causing some detours, I do like the turns but the loose gravel make it kinda hairy at times. All in all not a bad ride for those in Dallas looking to get away from all the traffic.

the initial portion of the ride (FM 545) is really a good set of twisties. The remaining portions were very scenic and had good road quality, but not too much excitement for the knee-dragging sport-bike rider.

We live a little further east (Tyler), but I've been on a short segment of the trail quite by accident on a return trip from Colorado. I recognize Frognot on the map. Not a road to be with a fifth-wheel trailer and a Jeep in tow behind that!

Really enjoyed this ride! The scenery once you get to the northern most part of the route is amazing and are some areas in Texas that I've never seen before. There had been some mention in earlier comments about road conditions, but I think they have been repaired since as I was surprised at how smooth all of the riding surfaces were. I made a small change in the route to swing through Anna at lunchtime to grab some fried catfish at Crow's Country Cafe.
