i've heard The Twisted Sisters described as "a gentle but stirring roller coaster ride through the Austin-adjacent Hill Country" and that is a very apt description. truly a great ride and a worthwhile adventure... twisty, turny, ups and downs... i was very surprised i was still in Texas. be advised, there isn't much as far as places to stop and eat, drink or get fuel so put some drinks in your saddlebag and make sure your tank is full of gas. RR335 runs right along a river and about midway down there is a great spot to pull off and jump in and cool off... i would suggest taking US HWY 83 West or RR337 (from East to West) into Leakey, RR336 North, 41W to RR335 South and then RR337 East back into Leakey... there you will find plenty of spots to grab something to eat/drink before you head back to wherever you came from ;)

Good long, meandering ride through the hill country near the Frio river. A good amount elevation change (for Hill country) I only rate it 4 because it is fairly long between opportunities for water and it is fairly exposed (not much relief from the sun). Note- I did it in August when my dash thermometer read 102 degrees! Which of course is operator error. ?. It also has a fairly long gap of nondescript, straight, flat road between the curvy sections. There is a cycle shop in Leakey, where I started and finished, that has cold beer and a bit of motorcycle memorabilia. My tip for those who do it in the warmer times of the year, keep in mind that the Frio River is a spring fed, gloriously cool respite from the heat. There are several places to pull of and cool down.

Rode the sisters twice in a five year period. Both times it rained the whole ride. The roads were good but the rain really took away from both experiences.

We went on this loop as part of of the Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas which had a stop at the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop/Bent Rim Grill in Leakey. Great place to stop and rest, have a drink and something to eat along with some souvenirs. The views were scenic and one did need to pay attention to the road. There were some long bland stretches near the top of the loop and besides Leakey, there really are no stopping points except for picture taking.

THE BRIDGE IS FIXED AND ROAD FULLY OPEN NOW! We road this loop as part of our Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas which had a stop at the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop/Bent RIm Grill in Leakey. I agree this is not for a novice rider. It has some great scenery but also some long straight "plain" roads. The only real stops are in Leakey - rest are photo stop areas. I will agree with a previous reviewer, the road is rough. I was on a Goldwing and could feel the road roughness most of the ride. It is a Texas Farm To Market road but it does wear on you. One does have to concentrate with all the curves which adds to wear from the rough road. I believe an early spring or late fall would be better times to ride the area for better scenic views.

I live in Texas and have ridden this several times. Lots of out-of-State folks come to ride it and say they were, "underwhelmed." Let me just say that this road is not The Tail of The Dragon so, don't expect that kind of road. It is, however, Technically challenging, Rougher roads, Lot's of times there are marbles on tight turns, Cows in the road, Farmers and Ranchers that are sick of motorcyclists on their road, Crotch-Rocket newbies that think they are 10 feet tall and bulletproof, and Water crossings with slime that is slicker than greased owl shit. If you look at the scenery too long you are going to crash! These sisters will lull you into a false sense of security and then kill you! The sisters demand that you have a larger share of skin in the game. These three roads have a little bit of almost everything you fear on a motorcycle...And I LOVE IT! (Be sure to stop and take a picture by the death count sign)

Fun ride - we rode in March so cooler and not much traffic. Some fun twists and turns but scenery cannot compare to the Pig Trail in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas or any of the rides in the Smokies.

1st sister 335 was like a roller coaster. Ups, downs and twists. 2nd sister 336 was tight fast Twisties. 3rd sister 337 was more scenic. Bent Rim was a cool spot

We rode it counter clockwise, then rode in the opposite direction. Well worth it!
