DO NOT BE RUSHED ON THIS ROAD!!! If you aren't comfortable, make them pass! This is a great ride for twisties and views and very technical riding. Mind the speed limits, and hairpin turns, you will see a few corners where pegs dragged and the bike dropped into the hole due to lack of speed or ability. My wife followed me on her bike and we were doing fine but we got caught by about 6 guys on adventure bikes who wanted to go faster than we were going right as we went into the hardcore twisties, so they probably turned around and ran it again... but when we dropped into town there was Johnny Law sitting there waiting for us so I probably saved them a few hundred in welcome to Texas fees. :)

Very nice but scary at times especially when your bike wants to go faster. On a crotch rocket it is very adrenalin-filled , this is a road for the more experienced sports bike rider every curve is a blind one and you gota watch out for school buses and 18 wheelers ,the first time i remember goin down a big hill and down the hill was a big curve dont wana run off the road on that one..after a couple times it gets more fun once you know the road

This is one of the best Texas rides I have been on. I only gave it 4, because we did the 1500 miles around TN and NC last summer and that is hard to beat. The twisties around the lake are a blast. Although the ride is not super long. Great scenery as well. For a break, there are several places to pull off on dead end roads and walk closer to the lake. Be cautious as everyone mentioned. Watch out for slow cars as well. On the way back we stopped by the Uncle Billys Brew and Que by the Oasis on Lake Travis. Very good microbrews and bbq. You can also take a right by the Oasis for a quick 10 minute scenic ride. The road dead ends... just turn around and go back.

This is probably the most technical ride I've done so far. The posted speed limits are really not to be used as suggestions. Tons of twisties, hills, dips curves and what have you. Big sections of this ride you are constantly busy. Downshift, brake, roll off throttle, roll on throttle, clutch, lean. Fun ride but not for a beginner.

Brother, you are so right- when it says 10MPH on Lime Creek Rd, you don't want to be going 11! Good way for your motorcycle to end up in a tree. It is a beautiful ride, though!

Great road for twisties and rolling hills. Lots of fun in the turns and curves. Use care since you are sharing the road with lots of others. Saw a car rollover in the ditch about ten miles out of Marble Falls. A few places to stop along the way and great food at either end................1

This was a fun road to ride. Scenery is nice, bunch of trees plus houses here and there. Nice for a passenger to look at but driver needs to pay attention to road, signs, and speed limit. Its an exciting ride with turns after turns with multiple hills. Excellent ride!!!

Great ride! We started at Cedar Park and rode to Marble Falls and back. Roads in great condition, traffic we encountered friendly. Great biker friendly BBQ place at Marble Falls, Peete Mesquite BBQ!

Live in Lago Vista and this ride is awesome with traffic being the only issue at certain points. Spring is the best time; we feel, for this ride. From Lago Vista to Marble Falls the wild flowers line both sides of the road, Respect the speed limits along the Ceder Park - Jonestown - Lago Vista section.

One of my favorite routes that is close to my house. Is good as posted. Fun to ride lots of twisty roads. Ive done it from the 620 BBQ joint (great bbq for decades) to marble falls. The part from 620 to 1431 is mostly slow roads heavier traffic (you will get stuck behind 15mph car and blind corners) and lots of twisty road. However From Lago Vista to Marble Falls is great. Cars go faster and easy to rev up and pass in needed. If your tired of high speed take a turn off onto Cow Creek Road from 1431, great hills clear water take a private dip in the clear water creek. But watch out on Cow Creek many hazards like alge riden roads low water crossings, cattle gaurds, dirt n rocks.

Amen on slowing down on lime creek road. I live in the area and a year doesn't go by without losing a rider to this road. This ride is really fun but be on top of your game here and don't get stupid. OBEY the speed signs!!!!!! Their important. Ride safe.

Lived close to here for 2 years, rode it weekly. Stay in your lane, always some idiot cutting corners or going wide. Cops typically near N end of Lime Creek Road. Asphalt marbles have been there recently due to some repairs, makes it interesting. Sport bikes and sports cars have a great time on this road! I drag my pegs if too aggressive.

We lived on this road for 12 years, until '07. The "girl of my dreams" took her first ride on it when she got her license and we bought her a Softail Standard. We loved going to the Blue Bonnet for pie and coffee and then on to Luckenbach....

Rode this for TXMM 2017 and it was great. It's a tight road, so it's better to ride a smaller bike. I was passing all the sport bikes on my supermoto. The surface is pretty good for power sliding. Forget the scenery, Lime Creek Road is was meant to be dominated.

Easy like Sunday morning. Started about 06:45 on Sunday at Four Points (TX FM2222 & TX FM620), to Volente via FM2769 and Lime Creek Road, Anderson Mill Road and Whitestone Blvd (FM1431) through Jonestown, Smithwick, then Marble Falls at about 09:00. Then US-281 north to Burnett, east through Bertram, and Liberty Hill to Georgetown, TX. From there I traveled south on I-35 back to Austin about 10:30. Circuit trip was 152.7 miles, door to door. Sunday morning traffic is nice!

Great ride this weekend (July 17 - 19) down from Fort Worth to Austin to do this ride. No rain which was great and warm but the ride itself was superb. Not much traffic out due to Covid (I guess) so my wife and I were able to do what we wanted to with this route with minimal interruption. Views were great, road surfaces were good and luckily no issues with any law enforcement types. I finally realized that map looks like a T-Rex so that was a bonus :) Highly recommend this ride and worked out well for us to visit Austin during these times.

If you want a road with lots of turns, hills and scenic views; then this is it. I cannot tell you how many times I have traveled up and down this road growing up. It became even better on the motorcycle. The only thing now is all the urban sprawl happening. It takes something away from the experience. Oh yes, be mindful of deer.

Am a native Austinite and have been riding Volente area for as long as I've owned a bike and it's changed a lot over the last 10 years. Long portions of the Anderson Mill part of the ride have new pavement which is a huge improvement. Lime Creek was getting really busy on weekends pre-Covid, so if you want to really move you need to go early rather than later before all the lake traffic picks up. If you're new to this part of the ride...10mph means 10mph! You can probably take these blind corners faster, but the guy coming the opposite way might be in your lane so be ready. Get your speed coming out where you can see ahead. Also keep your eye on your mirrors as there are some seriously fast folks riding this road and they can be a little reckless if they know it.
