Motorcycle Type : Touring
This is about the best ride in the Panhandle. The best time to ride it is in the spring of fall. Spring is better. be aware that the weather here can change in the blink of an eye. Take plenty of water to ride to the bottom of Palo Duro Canyon. Enjoy!

I used to live in Plainview, TX. I approached this along farm market roads from the south. Wide open roads with posted limit set at 70. The canyon is a beautiful change from the flatness of the south plains. Some surprisingly quick turns so pay attention. Uphill twisties are great. Downshift and grab a fistfull...

Really cool ride. The sky in this area is like no other place I’ve been. Palo Duro is beautiful and has some curves. Take water and watch your fuel. There is a lot of nothing out there.
